Flaked or rolled grains are made by tendering grains then heating up and running grain through a roller. The flaked (rolled) grains are then dried. Quick oats start with Steel Cut Oats instead of Oat Groats.  Rolled or Flaked grains are used for hot cereal, granola, granola bars, and as a garnish on the top of a loaf of bread.
